8 killer ways to seduce readers to keep visiting your blog, don’t worry there is nothing in this post to be offended. This is just some awesome and unmentioned tips to boost readership on your blog. We all know the struggle to get loyal readers at a point in the internet when a reader is spoilt for choices. Here are some pointers you can take home:
- Attractively written & original articles: This is the number one way to ensure more readers for your blog. I am yet to see a blog that is popular among visitors and does not have interesting content.
- Awards or Contests: Most people in today’s world are extremely competitive and yearn to be popular and well-known. Leverage this psychology with a contest and awards to winners. This technique is particularly effective if you have a reasonable traffic number. Else, do not apply this idea right now.
- On-site web-tool / application: A web tool or an application on your site will be highly appreciated. You can add a basic search tool or an advanced application to get Twitter followers. Either ways, this will ensure your blog is not forgotten.
- A notable personality’s interview: This point is self-explanatory. Although difficult, if you are able to avail an interview with a notable personality related to your blog’s niche. It will go a long way in building your readership.
- An industry specific priority-ranking list:This is regarding the post you make. Often make posts that have a list related to your blog niche. Suppose, if you have an Entertainment blog. Write a post which has a list of highest earning celebrities, or 10 most funny actors etc.
- Freebies – items, resources, gift:Promote your blog by offering free e-books or some useful material when they subscribe to your blog/website. Free WordPress templates are always a welcome by the blogging community. Freebies are important because everyone likes free stuff that they can use.
- Discount offers or unique deal: Provide value added deals on your blog, such as discount hosting coupons and great deals on products that readers in your blog niche would require.
- Widgets for specific communities: Following this point can boost interaction within your blog. You can add a MyBlogLog community widget or a Facebook Fan page. Other options are Google Friend Connect etc. All these widgets are communities where blogger can join to improve connectivity and interactivity to your blog.
Hope you found these tips useful. I would be glad to hear your feedback.
