If you are in the process of designing your WordPress website, then you may be overwhelmed by the number of options available to you. An important point to remember is that WordPress isn’t simply a blogging platform; it is a full blown content management system that can be adapted to suit a wide variety of purposes. Many highly respected businesses and websites use a WordPress theme style known as a “magazine theme” to present their content. These themes are great because they present your content in a way that has traditionally been reserved for professional print magazines. Here are 10 WordPress Magazine Themes you might consider.

Zin Mag
1. Zin Mag Tribune This theme from Jinsona is designed to replicate the look and feel of a newspaper. You can adapt it to look any way you want, and there is free support available via a support forum.

Red Carpet
2. Red Carpet Magazine This theme is modeled after People Magazine, and it looks just about as good as People Magazine does. You can get this theme up and running within minutes through your WordPress admin panel. Red Carpet can handle everything from video to photos to the latest news.

Arthemia
3. Arthemia If you don’t want a full blown magazine style website, then you might want to check out Arthemia. This theme attempts to combine the best of the magazine and blogging worlds into one package. The top of your site will look like a magazine, and all your blog posts will be shown below in the traditional manner.

The Morning After
4. The Morning After The Morning After theme was designed specifically based on the requests of WordPress users. In 2009, an extensive survey was carried out in the WordPress forums to determine the features real world bloggers wanted in a magazine theme. The result was The Morning After, and it has proved to be extremely popular.

Artfull
5. Art Full This is a professionally created WordPress theme with many useful features. You can easily integrate Flickr photos, and a clock at the top of the page gives it an additional stylish touch. The fluid 3 column layout means that it will look great no matter what browser or screen size your visitors are using.

Grungezine
6. Grungezine This magazine theme uses a two-column layout and is designed for those who want a more edgy look. This is great for sites that deal with niche or counter-cultural topics.

Ashore
7. Ashore Poker Thus named because it was originally designed for a news-intensive poker site, the Ashore theme can be adapted for any use. It is especially noteworthy for its unique combination of aesthetics and functionality.

The Stars
8. The Stars This is an ideal theme if your website is about fashion or celebrity news. It has a sleek modern look that mimics the appearance of multi-million dollar celebrity publications. This theme can automatically generate thumbnails based on your content, and it includes high quality drop down menus.

Magazeen
9. Magazeen This theme was specifically designed for the popular Smashing Magazine website. Now, it has been released into the public for free use under the GPL license. It’s not often that you can enjoy the fruits of a professionally commissioned theme, so you should check this one out. It’s easy to have a professionally looking website these days when you utilize a WordPress theme. The best part about these 10 themes is that every single one is absolutely free. You might want to go through them one by one to see which is right for your site.
