Is Offline Promotion Really Worth Your Time?

Recently, I read a post about promoting your blog offline on one of the blogs which I read regularly. It was interesting for me to see the various ways in which the author explained your blog can be promoted offline. Of course, most of them were very practical. After reading the post I understood that it is not that difficult after all to promote your blog offline. Earlier I had considered that promoting a blog offline can be very expensive. But there was one question which hit my mind - is it really worth spending on offline promotion?

Alexa rank is an evil obsession. It is tough for a new blogger to believe that the Alexa rank is a highly flawed system of ranking sites. But Life’s Imperfect. Alexa rank is skewed to rank sites with webmaster/technology related content. The reason why Alexa rank is not correct is because it only counts visits by visitors who have the Alexa toolbar installed in their browser. And a web savvy, tech-oriented audience are more likely to have the Alexa toolbar installed in their browser. General users who visit your site are not counted in the traffic rank as they do not have the Alexa rank.

We all know that the main way to search optimization (SEO) is through keywords and there is no point blogging for money unless you have SEO clear in the back of your mind. In the internet, as the number of websites and blogs grew there became a fierce competition to rank in the top 10 of Google’s or any search engine results. Webmasters began applying all ways to get to the top and thus, there was born Longtail SEO. My Obsession with Alexa Site Info

As a serial blogger, I started obsessing over Alexa site ranks ever since I began maintaining my first blog. And over the course of time I have began to understand some very interesting facts about Alexa ranking. The most stunning fact is that Alexa Site Ranks are grossly wrong. They are the most inaccurate tool to evaluate site rank.
