GoDaddy Domain Prices to Get Expensive
Posted on 11. Apr, 2010 by Vivek Krishnan in Tech News
The flagship domain name registrar GoDaddy is due to hike its prices by July 1, 2010. I am sure that this news will come as a upset for most bloggers who must already be on a shoe-string budget.
The expected hike in price for registeration is upto 7-10%. The hike will apply to domain extensions both .COM and .NET. Both new registerations and renewals will be hiked in prices.
GoDaddy is a very popular domain registrar with millions of customers who rely on them for registering a domain name of their choice. This increase in price of GoDaddy comes from new policies of VeriSign – the registrar for .COM and .NET domains. And the rates will be increased by July 1, 2010.
Although, my domain registrar is NameCheap. I think they will also be increasing the domain registration costs soon. This news will realy be a kind of upset for the blogosphere.
