3 Problems Faced As A Professional Blogger
Posted on 21. Jun, 2010 by Vivek Krishnan in Blog Tips
As a professional blogger, even though not a full-time one there are various problems which I face due to becoming a blogger. I believe that my future is going to be online, it is my earnest desire to make a full-time income from the internet. Towards this goal, I have been an active blogger right through my college. I still have one more year to go for my graduation though.
Here in this post I am not going to inform you anything new or provide tips. Instead, I am only going to share problems that we all face (if you are a blogger of course).
List of problems I face as a blogger:

Heart Break
Social Life: I admit it truly that my social life sucks since I began blogging. If you have ever read my “about” page you would have also read about how I lost a relationship that could have worked well if I was smart enough to put in more time. Unfortunately, at that stage of my blog’s (I have about three blogs now) infancy I was really engrossed in writing, promoting and went blind to see that my girlfriend was falling out of love with me. It was finally on January 31st that she said she wanted to end it. All my apologies went to deaf ears at that time, now she is happy with someone else. This may be perhaps among the biggest regrets which blogging will leave on me. I believe that although work is important – it should not come above family and the people you love. Since then I have been making a conscious effort to maintain an effective work-life balance, with some success towards that direction.
Academics: I hate my academics. Currently, I am pursuing an under-graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and to be frank, I am not much of an engineer. This makes me a real weak student, since I am already weak in academics blogging has only made it worse. It is really difficult for me to juggle my studies along with my desire to blog. I still have a year to go and I hope I get through college okay. This blog’s is directly inspired from college – I am not a College Drop-out, but yes I have had a College Fall-Out.
Obsession: This point explains the complete lack of focus I have sometimes due to blogging. Suppose if I submit a guest post to a really good blog, then I go offline. While I am away doing some other thing, like eating then I am still thinking about the guest post – whether it will be accepted or not. The anticipation of it getting published sometimes makes me lose my sleep. Which is why I love blogs that accept guest posts really quick. It is like this obsession to get online, without which I can’t sleep or eat.

Internet Obsession

Thanks for this post! I was doing a bit of research for a new web series about bloggers and I was writing a list of some of the issues we face and was surprised to see yours already on my list. I was just taking a stab in the dark. I’m glad you mentioned about the loss of relationships too. I don’t think people consider that with the internet in general. But I’ve met many people who neglect real humans for the internet. It’s important to address.
