This is an article that will teach you to search engine optimize your each blog post so you can enjoy higher levels of traffic. I am a big SEO enthusiast, I love the whole concept of link building, keywords and meta-tags. A good SEO campaign can do wonders for your sites traffic.

Here I have discussed 7 powerful ways to SEO a blog post:

SEO a Blog Post

Divide Your Article Into 3 Basic Parts:

This is something that you learn at grammar school, the same applies to your blog posts as well. Your article should be clearly divided into three parts:

An introductory paragraph that contains the longtail keywords you are aiming at.

The main body of your article, which has all the juice.

A clean conclusion which summarizes the points above.

Keywords In Your Post Title:

Your post title itself should contain the main keyword you are aiming at. Usually, it is a good strategy to include longtail keywords in your post title as it helps you rank well in search engines more easily.

Related Post: 3 Tips To Choose The Correct Keywords For SEO

Limit Your Post Title To 40 Characters:

Limiting your post title to a maximum of 40 characters is important. Long and winding titles hardly catch a readers attention. On the other hand, limiting your post title to 40 characters will also ensure that the whole title shows up in the search engine results.

Internally link To A Previous Post:

This is very important to the overall site SEO. Also, interlinking will allow a reader to understand the article in more depth or perhaps learn more about it. Interlinking will also positively affect the crawling of your site.

Follow The Keyword Pyramid:

I call it the keyword pyramid – this is a basic rule that is followed by professional freelance writers for SEO. There are many people who are confused how many times should a particular keyword be included in the article. The answers is – follow an inverted pyramid. Which means, your keyword density should be high in the beginning of the article and reduce as the article ends.

Fill Out Your Tags Diligently:

Tags and categories need to be filled out by you. Your tag column should contain all the keywords that you have used within your blog post. Also, select an appropriate category. After writing a blog post, many bloggers become lazy to type out the post tags. You should make sure you fill them out diligently.

Add An Image/Flowchart:

It is a great idea to add a properly tagged picture or flowchart within your content. Because, image searches can also be a good source of traffic for you if you tag it correctly and merge into your keyword rich content.

When you write a blog post, try to keep it as natural as possible without forcing keywords into it. Push keywords cleverly into your blog post. Don’t be obsessed with SEO, but always keep it in the back of your mind. Leave your thoughts on this article below.

We all know that the main way to search optimization (SEO) is through keywords and there is no point blogging for money unless you have SEO clear in the back of your mind. In the internet, as the number of websites and blogs grew there became a fierce competition to rank in the top 10 of Google’s or any search engine results. Webmasters began applying all ways to get to the top and thus, there was born Longtail SEO. Longtail SEO is a boon for small blogs like mine – because it is a great way to get traffic even if you do not have a very big presence on the internet.

SEO is done with keywords. There are two kinds of keywords, longtail keywords and short keywords. Using longtail keywords for SEO is called Longtail SEO. The basic concept of Longtail keywords started when blogs/websites with no authority began to rank in the number 1 of Google and other Search Engine results. These websites did not rank for major keywords but instead longer keywords that were not searched that commonly.

To state an example of longtail keywords, suppose you have a website on Dan Brown (popular author of The Da Vinci Code and more lately, The Lost Symbol). So you may choose to search engine optimize it by inserting the keyword as “Dan Brown”. But it will be very difficult for you to rank in the top 10 of Google’s search results when someone searches for the term “Dan Brown”, especially if you have a new site. On the other hand if you choose your SEO keyword as “Facts about Dan Brown”, then you are sure to get a good position in Google’s search results.

The main reason for the success of Longtail keywords in small and new websites is that most major and big websites will always target the main keywords since they are authority sites. You, on the other hand can enter the market and the dog-eat-dog world of blogging by optimizing the advantages posed by Longtail SEO.

So what will be the type of traffic that you get from Short Term SEO and Longtail SEO? As you can guess, if you are using Longtail SEO you are sure to get high conversion (if you sell), however, the traffic that you may generate will be much lesser than what you might expect from a main keyword.

On the other hand, if your website is ranked well for a main keyword (short term SEO) then you are sure to get a high amount of traffic to your website. However, don’t expect that your conversions will be proportional to the traffic that you get.

This article is like a crash course on Longtail SEO. Longtail SEO is in fact quite an exhaustive Search Engine Optimization technique. I will be covering more topic on Longtail SEO in future posts.

Let me know Your thoughts below.
