If you are a person who has been trying to make money blogging, then be sure to face a few obstacles on the way. A blog needs to over come a few road blogs before it becomes a money-making machine (I am sure the expression sounds desirable). Here is a list of road blocks that are faced while making money online.

Poor Traffic: To make any amount of money your fundamental requirement is traffic. Advertisements and affiliates only perform when there is an ample amount of traffic. If your site has a very poor everyday traffic then advertisers will not be ready to advertise since ads will not get much exposure. On the other hand, affiliate marketing is very traffic intensive. If you want to see good results in affiliate sales then traffic is important.

Wrong Niche: This is a big road block while trying to make money online from blogging. There are many blogs that get a huge amount of traffic but are unable to monetize it in any way because of a weak niche. On the other hand, blogs with lesser traffic are earning much more than those high-traffic sites because their niche is much more powerful. Generally, niche related to technology and health perform very well while earning money online.

Unprofessional/Irregular: If your blog is supposed to make money, then advertisers need to be sure that they are dealing with some one serious about his site. This means that your blog should give a very professional feel and should be updated regularly. Most blogs that are unprofessional and are updated once in a blue moon will rarely be able to make money.

These are a few road blocks that even experienced bloggers have been facing whenever they want to monetize their blog. Hope you found this post useful and can work on tackling these road blocks.

I would really appreciate comments below.

A blogtrepreneur is basically someone who makes an entrepreneurial venture out of blogs. There are many ways that you can become a blogtrepreneur. Each type of blogtrepreneur has a specific way of functioning. This post is an intensive dig at blogtrepreneurs.

Who is a Blogtrepreneur?

A blogtrepreneur is someone who makes money online by venturing into serial blogging. He earns accumulative revenue by maintaining more than one blog. Usually, by hiring freelance writers.

There are two broad types of blogtrepreneurs:

Blogtrepreneur-1: The first type are the rich guys with a lot of moolah. They start off by hiring a writer and pay per article. This type of blogtrepreneur generally only concerns himself with link building, SEO etc. whereas the content is taken care-off by professional/freelance writers. In a year or so if he worked hard and created a lot of content, then his blog will become a money-generating machine. Then, he can move on to his next blog venture. There also many blogtrepreneur’s who will start 2-3 blogs (of different niches) at the same time by hiring content writers.

Blogtrepreneur-2: The second type of blogtrepreneur does not spend on content writers initially. They begin writing a blog themselves until it begins to generate revenue, then they hire writers. Then based on the profit they get, the budget to pay to content writers is decided. Further, the first blog is continued by the hired writers, whereas the blogtrepreneur jumps to start his next blog.

How to Become a Blogtrepreneur?

Like you may have understood from the two broad classification of blogtrepreneurs you can either start by setting up a blog and spending on writers. Provided your content writers are good and you have done your share of building relationships and SEO – you will be earning money in no time.

On the other hand, if you have no money to spend on writers then you will have to write yourself and do the promotion as well. This may cause your blog’s growth to slow down but, it will pay off for sure if you are consistent.

My opinion

Not sure how much this matters but, in my opinion becoming a blogtrepreneur is much easy if you have one master blog that generates a handsome amount of revenue. Then you can invest the revenue into creating more money making blogs.

Now for the important part, What’s your take on this?

If you are a serial entrepreneur then investing on a business online may be a great option for you. These days there are so many costs that need to be met while initiating a business that it is important you have enough capital to absorb the initial shocks of failure. In the same breath, an online business allows you a great deal of advantages over a conventional business that you may intend to start. This post will give you a deeper perspective on why an online business is such a great option for entrepreneurs.

Very Less Market Entry Costs

The amount of money that you invest initially in an online business is quite less compared to conventional entry costs. You may need to pay for your domain, your web hosts and a website design (if you want it customized). If you want to get started with a blog, then Blogger allows you to do so for free. Blogger is also a great way to learn all the basic of blogging.

Control Your Advertising Expenditure

When you start a business online there are a lot of ways in which you can promote your website or product on the internet. Most of the best options available are free – of course you can also pay to get your site/product promoted – that is your choice. But as such you can easily promote your business online by commenting on other blogs, using signatures in emails and posting on popular forums related to your business.

Multiple Revenue Streams

The website you run online need not make money only by providing your services. On the internet there are a lot of ways you can earn money. So your business can diversify its sources of income. One can sign up as an affiliate at a company like Clickbank, NeverBlue and promote products for handsome commissions. AdSense is another obvious way.

Globalized Approach to Business

The business you run online is not restricted to your locality or city. When you start a business online, you are catering to the world. The services you provide can be used by people all around the globe. One cannot even imagine reaching worldwide if you plan on starting a conventional business as the costs associated would be shocking!

The world is coming online, there are already 75 million Twitter users. Celebs are online, kids are browsing online, teens are looking to make quick money online – it would indeed be a smart choice to start your business online to capitalize on this whole new rage of Web 2.0.

E-books are part of the modern digital and computer based age where almost anything is getting digitized and thus easily made accessible to thousands of people online just at the click of a button. Many of these digital products are not free and are sold just like their hardcopy counterparts. However, since the digital version hardly has any cost of production, and the transport and such charges are reduced of nullified even, they could be sold cheap. EBooks selling is profitable online money making scheme.

Do eBooks really sell?

Book reading is a very nice hobby among many and could be useful for accessing huge amount of information. Ebooks take this hobby or activity one step further by not requiring you to carry paper based bulky objects around.

Moreover, ebooks are small in size with regards to the bits and bytes. Thus, a regular novel could be downloaded within 3-5 minutes on a decent internet connection. All you have to do is do the payment online through a secure channel and then download the Ebook. Viola, you have a whole knowledge base of information on your own hard disk which can be accessed and carried anywhere.
Considering the nature of e-books, hundreds or thousands of them can be saved on your portable storage device or portable document reader. Thus, when travelling and such, you have access to the high number of Ebooks that would not be possible in the case of traditional paper based books. All these factors make eBooks selling a profitable venture.

Making Money from eBooks

Making money off Ebooks on the internet not very difficult, but neither is it simple. EBooks selling requires good marketing research. Even if you think you cannot or do not want to write a book yourself, you can stay at home and make money off the whole business with hardly any costs to the business.

Some companies and sites online provide full ownership rights once you buy the Ebook for something as low as 3 US dollars. Then all you have to do is sell them online through your own business site, E-Bay or the likes. To do this, it is useful to know a merchant who owns the rights or might have written an ebook.

If you do not know them, then making use of the popular search engines with the right keywords might help. Thus, once you find the right affiliate service, all you have to do is get the necessary rights and you are on your way to having your own eBooks selling business.

It is important the you pick the perfect niche for your blog so that you can maximize the revenue which you earn out of it. There are many factors that you should take into consideration before picking up a niche for a new blog. This is the number one dilemma any seasoned blogger faces before he decided to start a new blog – he is unable to settle on a niche which he can write about.

The Marketability

The ease of marketing a particular niche should be taken into account. Some niches are easier to promote and market than others. Suppose you begin a technology or Web 2.0 blog then it can promoted on forums such as DigitalPoint forum. This will help in promoting the new blog to lots of new people. At the same time, a niche on baby care would not be so easy to promote. It will prove to be a little more expensive and difficult.

The Content

How much content can your niche have? Make sure that the niche you select is never short of content and is something which is constantly evolving. Moreover, a niche which does not have any kind of advancement or development will almost become obscure. So ensure that you select a niche which is lively and will always give you something to write about.

Your Comfort Level

Your level of comfort with a particular topic is also important. I am sure many will find it difficult to write about bank policies, bank loans etc. as they are best for people from that field. Try and stick to niches which you like and can easily write about. Unless you are passionate about the niche which you write it will be difficult for you to succeed online.

Satisfy a Need

Does your niche meet a need of the readers? Will the niche you select and write about be advantageous to the readers in some way? These are the basic questions which you need to ponder over before you select a niche. Picking a niche that is of worth to others is a key point to succeed online.

Multiple Revenue Stream

The niche which you write about should have multiple streams of revenue. As this will increase your chances of earning more profit. A blog on blogging tips for example does not depend on purely banners and paid-links, most authors provide services such as Theme development, Content service etc. This helps them branch out more income streams. The niche you select should also be able to get a lot of new modes of revenue.

So think well before you decide and finalize a niche. As it can make or break your blogging career.

Hello Everybody.

This post is dedicated to all those young internet entrepreneurs who had the courage to make it happen for themselves. I began blogging almost 3 years back. It is amazing to see people who began their business on the internet for a few months and are now well-known millionaires. I hope the post below lets you become a better blogger. These are 10 young internet entrepreneurs who make millions per year.

Mark Zuckerberg - Mark is just 25-years old (at time of writing). He is the youngest and the top most internet entrepreneur in the world today. Mark is the founder of the second most visited website in the world – Facebook. With this he is the youngest billionaire in the world. He started Facebook while he was still in Harvard. It is amazing to know that Mark started Facebook in his messy dorm room on February 4, 2004 as a way for students, faculty and friends to connect. He got the idea for Facebook from his college and school days where a book with head shots of students used to published.

Kevin Rose

Kevin Rose – ‘Digg’ any posts lately. If yes, you have to thank Digg’s founder 29-year old Kevin Rose. While younger, Kevin worked as a breadstick maker at a popular restaurant. Kevin has perhaps paid a heavy price for Digg. He lost the ‘love of his life’ while founding Digg. He invested $6000 into the site, which was supposed to be for a deposit on a house for him and his girlfriend. As a result of this, their relationship broke down. Since then he has been quoted saying,

“no matter what happens with Digg, I won’t put business first again.”

Michael Arrington

Michael Arrington – The lawyer who started a blog. He is one of the most powerful guys on the internet right now. Once he was a lawyer and he left his job to become the founder of TechCrunch. TechCrunch is now an authority-blog. TechCrunch covers internet startups and latest in technology news serving over 1.5 million page views per month. Michael is 39-years old. He is one of the most powerful guys on the internet right now.

#1: You Love It

If you love your blogging then you will most probably be successful at it. So many people start blogging because they heard of the Make Money Online buzz. They all quit in a few months time as they lack patience and dedication. Most successful blogs look easy to emulate but in reality there has been a lot of effort which has went into it. Passion is the first and foremost ingredient to blogging success.

#2: There Is Money To Be Made

Whatever niche you select it is important to understand whether it has value. Make Money Online/Blogging Tips niches are saturating the internet. Although, there is money in it. So it would be more profitable if you have a blog on finance, entertainment, arts etc. Remember that there is always potential in all niches – but some have more money in it than others.

#3: You Can Do All The Important Aspects Of The Blog Yourself

If you yourself can – buy your domain name – buy your web host – install WordPress – basic SEO – knowledge in the niche, then you can check this point off. Many start-up bloggers are not conversant with this – they require help from friends etc. Eventually many either trail off their blogs – although some slowly learn the tricks of the trade. So make it a point to know all the basics of blogging. The best way is to go through all the pro-blogger archives on the internet.

#4: You Can Bootstrap Yourself

When you begin a new blog it is easy to get distracted – buying a premium theme, then spending on ad programs such as AdWords etc. The fact is, unless you are launching a business or service – you do not require these frivilous expenditures. You have to bootstrap yourself until the income begins to come to you.

#5: You Have Patience to Tweak and Tweak and Keep Tweaking

It is an interesting fact to me that each day I become better an better at blogging. I assure it is the case with all bloggers. With each day passing you learn new promotional methods, better writing skills, improving your blog SEO etc. A person requires patience for this and those who have it can achieve good success at blogging.

This is a list of dumb and bizarre ideas that made millions. It goes onto show that there are no bad ideas, only bad implementations.

Go through the list and see the audacity with which these entrepreneurs started up:

1)Doggles.com

Cool Dog

Creating and Selling goggles for dogs. What could possibly ever be more dumber than that? Still they managed to become millionaires. How it was possible is totally beyond me!

They also have a cheesy tag line for their product-

“Protecting One Dog at a Time”

How they hell do these goggle or doggles (whatever!) protect the dogs. They wont even see where they walk.

2)Milliondollarhomepage.com

Alex Tew

21 year old Alex Tew came up with an idea that if he launched a site with 100,000 pixels. Sell each pixel for $1, he would essentially be a millionaire. And he did become one.

His websites tagline was -

“Own a Piece of History!”

And many buyers lined up to buy each pixel of his site for a dollar. You have to check out the site to believe it. I was shocked at the things that can make you money online.

Alex also used to maintain a blog for the website until 2006, which he no longer updates.

3) PositivesDating.com

A dating site for HIV-Positive people to meet and date. Paul Graves and Brandon Koechlin thought for these date-less HIV positive people and came up with this site. Projected annual sale were around $110,000 and site is bursting at seam with members. I personally find this service quite sweet and discriminating at the same time – a typical paradox.

4) SantaMail.org

Byron Reese is what you call a smart guy. He brought an address in North Pole, Alaska and offered parents a personalized letter for their kids as Santa Claus for $10 each. Reese has sent over 400000 letters since the start of the business in 2001. He is now worth millions.

5) Designer Diaper Bag

They have a very ‘cool‘ tag line as one may call it – “Diaper Duty in Style”

Christie Rein a 34-year-old mother of three found herself constantly stuffing diapers for her infant son into freezer bags to prevent them from crumpling. Fed up one day she and her husband came up with a custom made diaper bag that’s big enough to hold a travel pack of wipes and two to four diapers. With more than $180,000 in sales for 2005, Christie’s company, Diapees & Wipees, has bags in 22 different styles, available online and in 120 boutiques across the globe for $14.99.
