Mark Zuckerberg has truly made it to the top of the hate list of many traditional entrepreneurs. Just as they were coming to terms with the wave to take their business online, Zuckerberg hits them with Facebook. And all of a sudden the social media scene becomes an unavoidable aspect of entrepreneurship.

I could throw a few numbers to show you how quickly social media sites like Twitter and Facebook are growing but then I am sure most of you are already aware of it. It has been covered in newspapers, magazines and many publications.

This new rage of social media marketing on Facebook requires the following out of an entrepreneur:

Create a Facebook fan page for their business.

Promote it via blogs and (or) Facebook ads.

Post latest updates, offers regarding your business online.

Interact with your fans.

The task of connecting with your customers online has become a necessity rather than a choice. Because the internet marketing offers you the following distinct advantages to better your competition:

What your customers think about you.

What customers think about your competitors.

Understand trending of your customer demands.

Connect with your customers personally thereby creating higher loyalty.

Due to these factors, traditional entrepreneurs who tend to ignore social media tools like Facebook and Twitter take a bad beating. Because their more adaptive competition gets all the connection with the customers at these social hubs. This is why social media marketing has become a nightmare for entrepreneurs who like the old-school way of working.

Another serious issue many traditional entrepreneurs face with social media tools is the deficit in technical knowledge and the way these social tools work. For example, if you need to customize the Facebook fan page with new tabs then you need to be adept at Static FBML (Facebook Markup Language).

Social Media and Entrepreneurs

In the end what needs to be understood is that Social media marketing is a real-time method to connect with people. And entrepreneur have a much higher chance to grow faster than they expected using these social media tools. It can be worth the time and money you may invest into your social media campaigns.

The Social Network is dubbed as the “Facebook” movie is a film about the finding of Facebook and about its smug founder Mark Zuckerberg. The movie charts the history of the website from its launch by Mark Zuckerberg and his best friend at Harvard University. It goes on to track the legal battle between Zuckerberg and his friend and three other fellow students at Harvard who claim he stole their idea.

Promo: The Social Network

The movie is a poor contribution to the man who has changed the rules of social media, The Social Network ends off by giving viewers a totally wrong impression about the real Mark Zuckerberg. This movie begins with Mark Zuckerberg’s girlfriend dumping him which creates a devious, sex-obsessed, desperate-for-the-attention-of-a-woman guy and thereon goes to find Facebook. While in fact, he had a girlfriend during the whole time.

With the The Social Network, internet entrepreneur Mark Zuckerberg gets the Hollywood treatment, where reality and fiction blurs lines. In the movie, Zuckerberg is portrayed as a socially-awkward, insecure and an ego-maniac. This may have come from the smug image that he maintains.

David Kirkpatrick the author of “The Facebook Effect: The Inside Story of the Company That Is Connecting the World” claims the movie is only 40% true,

“Zuckerberg is unbelievably confident and secure. And he is not snide and sarcastic in a cruel way, the way Zuckerberg is played in the movie,” he says.

The Social Network has already grossed $23 million in its opening weekend.

Although agreed, he is a geek, with the founding of Facebook, Zuckerberg has clearly proved that he has a much better understanding of the social dynamics in colleges and schools than anyone else out there. Hollywood has no obligation to portray the truth about a person, however, it is important we all know that Mark Zuckerberg is actually a remarkably successful, ambitious human being, and one that I think all of us could probably learn a little from.

We all know the huge controversy that Facebook was able to stir up on the internet. Facebook made a huge dent on Facebook users sentiments with their Privacy Policy – which was too difficult for normal mortals like us to understand. The smug-faced Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg was not much help either. In fact, a few of his comments infuriated a lot of Facebook users – and that is a lot considering Facebook has around 400 million active users.

Mark Zuckerberg is the young entrepreneur and one of the youngest millionaires the world has seen. It is tough to imagine that Facebook started from his dormitory room. He has never been a favorite among most people as he has always been termed arrogant and callous. When the Facebook privacy policy rift started, Mark Zukerberg was directly targeted for such complications in the user privacy policies. Right from the start of Facebook, its privacy policy has always been an issue. But it was not until now that it really began to face the heat of controversy.

The users finally turned out victors, as Facebook (read, “Mark Zuckerberg”) made a major overhaul to make the privacy policy simple and easy for users to understand. Mark Zuckerberg was thrown a lot of dirt during the last few days of raging protests against Facebook.

It is clear to see however, no matter how smug or arrogant Mark Zuckerberg remains, it is highly unlikely that Facebook will be affected. People are in love with this powerful social media website which is radically changing the way people are connecting and finding old friends. Internet marketers and companies are all realizing the power of Facebook as a promotional and branding tool.

So whether you love or hate Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook is here to stay and the 400 million users will only increase with time!

Internet Entrepreneurs are causing a change of face of the global economy. The online has become a new and awesome medium of boosting economies around the world. It is not a news that will come as a great deal of surprise for us. The ease, speed and the quality of service has made internet undeniably addictive and super-powerful weapon to target profits. No matter what you want, the internet has become a never ending source of entertainment, information and services- all with the click of a button.

Jack Ma

Internet has become the most powerful medium to sell, buy and exchange goods worldwide. Jack Ma, an internet entrepreneur – the founder and CEO of Alibaba.com has stated that within 10 years, one billion people will use the internet to buy, sell products and services.

Alibaba.com alone has created 1.1 million direct jobs in the last three years in China. China is Alibaba.com’ home market. Employment opportunity for millions is something that was not really predicted with the advent of the internet. But like all entrepreneurs, the immense potential of the internet was quickly spotted by internet entrepreneurs like Jack Ma, Mark Zuckerberg etc.

Mark Zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg’s Social media giant- Facebook has already beat Google in metrics like pageviews and time spent, but may be the most important metric - revenue is something that Google will always like to keep at a high. Internet Entrepreneurs have been changing the complete face of the economy with the internet becoming the new arena for providing services and products.

Hello Everybody.

This post is dedicated to all those young internet entrepreneurs who had the courage to make it happen for themselves. I began blogging almost 3 years back. It is amazing to see people who began their business on the internet for a few months and are now well-known millionaires. I hope the post below lets you become a better blogger. These are 10 young internet entrepreneurs who make millions per year.

Mark Zuckerberg - Mark is just 25-years old (at time of writing). He is the youngest and the top most internet entrepreneur in the world today. Mark is the founder of the second most visited website in the world – Facebook. With this he is the youngest billionaire in the world. He started Facebook while he was still in Harvard. It is amazing to know that Mark started Facebook in his messy dorm room on February 4, 2004 as a way for students, faculty and friends to connect. He got the idea for Facebook from his college and school days where a book with head shots of students used to published.

Kevin Rose

Kevin Rose – ‘Digg’ any posts lately. If yes, you have to thank Digg’s founder 29-year old Kevin Rose. While younger, Kevin worked as a breadstick maker at a popular restaurant. Kevin has perhaps paid a heavy price for Digg. He lost the ‘love of his life’ while founding Digg. He invested $6000 into the site, which was supposed to be for a deposit on a house for him and his girlfriend. As a result of this, their relationship broke down. Since then he has been quoted saying,

“no matter what happens with Digg, I won’t put business first again.”

Michael Arrington

Michael Arrington – The lawyer who started a blog. He is one of the most powerful guys on the internet right now. Once he was a lawyer and he left his job to become the founder of TechCrunch. TechCrunch is now an authority-blog. TechCrunch covers internet startups and latest in technology news serving over 1.5 million page views per month. Michael is 39-years old. He is one of the most powerful guys on the internet right now.

Bob Parsons

Bob Parsons – Almost everyone reading this post is connected to this man. Bob Parson is the founder of the flagship domain registrar GoDaddy. Parsons recounts that he was extremely weak at academics. He joined the US Marine Corps and claims otherwise he would not have graduated high-school. Bob Parsons is also a Vietnam war hero who got injured while serving as riflemen for Delta forces in Vietnam. This is what Parsons said about his childhood,

“I’ve earned everything I’ve ever received. Very little was given to me. I’ve been working as long as I can remember. Whether it was delivering or selling newspapers, pumping gas, working in construction or in a factory, I’ve always been making my own money.”

Arianna

Arianna Huffington- Is perhaps one of the most successful female Internet entrepreneurs ever and is the founder of the top blog in the world according to Technorati! She started the news-blog Huffingtonpost dot com. Her blog HuffingtonPost has become synonymous to a news website. She is greek American and speaks with a marked Greek accent.

Peter Thiel – Peter is the reason why you got the immediate payment from your sponsor the last time. He and Max Levchin co-founded PayPal. There is yet to be a substitute to Paypal but none have been as effective. Thiel is also the investor who helped Zuckerberg kick things off with Facebook. I don’t know if you care but Thiel is gay. He is worth $1.3 billion.

Janus Friis- He is a Danish internet entrepreneur, who founded the popular telephony application Skype. Although in September 2005, he and his partner Niklas Zennström sold Skype to eBay for $2.6 billion. His hobbies and pass times include skydiving, pool, martial arts and winter sea bathing.

Evan Williams

Evan Williams – If you ever thought who on Earth could come up with a name such as Blog – then Evan is your man. He is responsible for popularizing the word ‘Blog’. Evan created the most popular blogging platform for newbies – Blogger. And yes, he is also the reason you “tweet” so much. Evan is the co-founder of the third most popular social network – Twitter. He is 37-years old, never too late huh?

Andrew Gower – Andrew became worth $650 million developing games. He is the founder of popular gaming site Runescape. He created Runescape in January 1999 as an undergraduate at the University of Cambridge. He used the assistance of brother Paul Gower.
Milun Tesovic – A young internet entrepreneur and an inspiration to all of us. Milun started Metrolyrics at 16 years old. His is a music website. Milun tells his story in his own words,

“When I was 15, I knew that after I got my driver’s license, I wanted a decent-looking car,” he said. “I had my own hosting company (on the Internet), and then I started analyzing where a lot of people go on the web. There were a lot of places where music and video games were available, but what I saw was music lyrics wasn’t that well represented.

So I made a quick script with my own code and started a database of music lyrics. … It cost $9 a month to buy up the domain.”

Although Metrolyrics receives over 36 million visitors monthly. Milun is still pursuing academics, he is doing BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) in Entrepreneurship.

Facebook has acquired a live feed delivering website – Friendfeed. This seems to be a specific attack to provide some kind of competition to the exploding Twitter popularity and Twitter rage that has come over netizens.

FriendFeed also has a powerhouse team of ex-Googlers who maybe capable of scaling up this technology and create innovations challenging enough to compete Twitter. It seems that Facebook has invested in a technology that is already existent than re-developing one themselves. It has been a more cost-effective method of tackling the micro-blogging giant.

All FriendFeed employees automatically join the Facebook umbrella. FriendFeed currently has 12 employees. Whereas, the four founders of FriendFeed will be holding senior roles in Facebook’s engineering and Production teams.

The four founders are Taylor, Buchheit, Jim Norris and Sanjeev Singh in October 2007. These men played key roles at Google for products like Gmail and Google Maps. FYI, Buchheit the Google engineer behind Gmail and the man behind Google’s core motto – “Do No Evil”.

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and CEO said,

“Since I first tried FriendFeed, I’ve admired their team for creating such a simple and elegant service for people to share information…As this shows, our culture continues to make Facebook a place where the best engineers come to build things quickly that lots of people will use.”

This definitely seems to me a media to wage war against Twitter.
