Michael Dunlop of retire@21.com and incomediary.com is a dyslexic, who ironically makes money by writing on his blog. While his talents are unquestionable, Michael’s blogs are popular for the amazing list posts which he creates. In his latest post, Michael Dunlop has released the Top 30 Young Bloggers around the world. What I found really cool was that there were 6 young Indian bloggers who have featured in the list.

You will definitely know them if you are a blogger yourself, because their authority in the Indian blogging social circles is outstanding. The young bloggers are:

Pradeep S. Kumar – HellBound Bloggers

Pradeep Kumar feaured with his blog at number 13 in Michael’s list. We have all witnessed how Pradeep grew his blog from scratch to an authority blog in the technology, social media and blogging niche.

Sushant Risodkar – SmartBloggerz

This young blogger featured at number 16 in Michael’s list. Sushant has been a revolution in the Indian blogging scene, considering that a young 17-year old was able to achieve so much success in such a short span of time.

Prasant Chandra – PCsPlace

Prasant featured at number 20 in the list. His appearance in the list has come as no surprise with his blog being a one-stop solution for any computer problems you might be facing. Also, lets not forget about the freebies he provides to his readers.

Shanker Ganesh – KillerTechTips

Shankar is an engineering student, but I am pretty sure he earns more than most people who are already engineers. Shankar is placed at 21 position in the list. His blog – KillerTechTips has over 200,000 monthly page views. His tech blog has also been featured on LifeHacker and Yahoo Tech Blog, which is no ordinary achievement. Shankar is 18.

Aditya – TechRavings

Another successful young Indian blogger who was positioned at number 23 in Michael’s list. His tech blog has a huge Twitter following as well as massive subscriber numbers. This is an amazing achievement as Aditya is only 16.

Thilak Rao – TechBuzz

Thilak has ended up in number 30. Thilak and his blog TechBuzz have also featured in DailyBlogTips popular post – Blogger’s Face-Off. It is hard to imagine that he began blogging in 2006 as a hobby and has ended up with a professional career now.

In a list of 30 top young bloggers from around the world, there are 6 young Indians. It is truly amazing how Indian bloggers who have entered the blogging scene only a couple of years ago are now authoritative and have left their foreign counter-parts way behind. A personal congratulations to all the above bloggers. Being featured in Michael Dunlop’s lust ( ) list is indeed a big deal.

Hello Everybody,

CollegeFallOut is now ranking in top 10 for the keyword “Internet Entrepreneurs” in Google India. For the same keyword, CollegeFallOut ranks in top 20 results in global searches of Google.

When I began this blog, I flatly aimed for the keyword “Internet Entrepreneurs”, with no longtail keywords. It was not a wise SEO decision actually. Since new blogs rarely rank well for such mainstream keywords. However, I guess the persistence is paying off now.

In India, there is not a very significant search volume for the term “internet entrepreneurs”, however, the global searches are quite good. This is why it is important for me to continue working on building keyword rich content until I rank in the top 10 for global searches.

Currently, I am facing quite stiff competition from authority blogs for the same keyword by top bloggers like Michael Dunlop and Yaro Starak. Michael Dunlop runs one of the most popular blogs for young entrepreneurs online.

I hope with continuous work to provide more value to readers, I can enter this keyword niche strongly. I also have to thank all my regular commentators on this blog for their support, which keeps me motivated.

It can be extremely interesting to hear how certain entrepreneurs got their start. Not only can such tales be educational, but they can also provide inspiration and motivation to keep going as an entrepreneur struggles in the face of adversity. While not every entrepreneurial story contains the tough luck tale or ends with triumph in the face of extreme hardship, many of these stories do contain critical insights into the entrepreneurial process and personal attributes of certain entrepreneurs that we might even see a little of in ourselves.

Here are ten inspiring interviews with internet entrepreneurs that you might find interesting and from which you could even learn a little something.

Joel Comm – From best selling books to business ventures, Joel Comm has a variety of entrepreneurial experience upon which to draw. There is some good information for aspiring or existing entrepreneurs that could be picked out from this quite extensive interview.

Aaron Dragushan – Not every entrepreneurial idea works out quite as planned. Actually, most entrepreneurial ideas probably don’t work out as planned. Here is an example of one entrepreneur and the challenges he encountered with a $150,000 investment in a site that didn’t take off as he expected.

Giacomo “Peldi” Guilizzoni – It’s the kind of story that keeps entrepreneurs and their dreams alive. Revenue of $4432 in three weeks, $100,000 in less than five months, and revenue of $2 million by 18 months. Not too shabby, right? Learn more about entrepreneur Peldi Guilizzoni, founder of Balsamiq Studios.

Chris Dixon – Ever hear of SiteAdvisor? You know, the thing that puts the little checkmark, exclamation mark, question mark or X beside a link, letting you know whether the site is safe to proceed to or not. Well, here’s an interview with the co-founder of SiteAdvisor, who ended up selling the company to McAfee for $74 million just a year and a day after he got funding for it.

Christopher Knight – You might want to check out this interesting interview with Christopher Knight, founder of a little site you may have heard of – EzineArticles.com. Christopher has a great piece of advice for new or future entrepreneurs – “Do it and stop talking about doing it.”

Michael Dunlop – With sites like IncomeDiary.com and Retireat21.com, Michael Dunlop has found success at an early age. Find out more about Michael and how he built his sites and success in this interview with Robb Sutton. As quoted from the interview, Michael states, “Hey, so why don’t I interview all the people that are doing really well, and then I will actually have authority content and it will be actually, genuinely good advice.” Sounds like a pretty good way to learn and teach others about entrepreneurship.

Trevor Mauch – If you’re looking for some marketing tips and insights, you might find it in this interview entitled, “Trevor Mauch Young Entrepreneur Interview On Organic Web Marketing, Product Launches & Real Estate Investing”.

Shakil Khan – From flipping burgers to heading up CardSmart.co.uk, it’s the kind of story that gives many entrepreneurs hope. Find out more about Shakil, or as his friends call him “Shak” and the interesting path that has led him from working at a burger joint to starting a company.

Steven Hafner – As the CEO of the travel search engine, Kayak, Steven Hafner also discusses how he ended up starting Orbitz, his thoughts on Mobissimo, among other things in this seven-part interview.

Mark Fasciano and John Murcott – Sure, entrepreneurs often love to dream of hitting it big, making the big score and cashing in on their success – but these aren’t the most altruistic of motives. Read about how Mark Fasciano and John Murcott became successful entrepreneurs, but did so while founding Karma411, a platform for helping non-profits with their online fundraising.

Conclusion
No matter if the story ends in entrepreneurial success or failure, there are often valuable lessons to be learned from the story itself. Sometimes success breads success. Sometimes success derives itself from failure, and in some cases, multiple failures. In any case, however, the entrepreneur had to make the effort in the first place to discover the result of his or her endeavors.

The No Leakage rule was introduced by the young internet entrepreneur Michael Dunlop. This rule basically entails you getting rid of any advertisements or sponsor banners on your blog. Michael Dunlop claims that banners and third-party ads are basically the leaks of your blog. A visitor who comes to your blog can be turned into a very profitable customer if you are smart and eliminate all kinds of leakage.

When a reader comes to your blog they are acting upon the action you are encouraging them to take. If you have sponsor ads – definitely a few of your visitors will click on your sponsor ads and get directed to them.

The common leakages in a blog are:

Blogroll

Top Commentators List

Ad Banners from Sponsors

Any link which you have no control over

Michael Dunlop in his blog Income Diary deeply emphasizes on the fact that having links shown above will affect your control over your visitors. He says your blog should be leak proof in such a manner that a visitor has only two options and that is:

Either Subscribe to Your Blog

Or Exit the Browser

On his blog he has three banners that direct readers to take a positive step towards their online business. He has an affiliate link for a domain registrar, a web host and a premium theme – basically he provides a setup for his visitors to start their own money-making blog.

Although the No Leakage rule can boost the conversion rate on your blog – there are also a few disadvantages associated with. So the final choice for applying the No Leakage rule is upon you. In CollegeFallOut I make a gross violation of the “No Leakage” rule but I do not plan to switch to affiliate marketing any time soon.

I just wanted to share this great piece of update with you. Robb Sutton from Robbsutton.com just got an interview with young internet entrepreneur Michael Dunlop. He is one of my most favorite internet entrepreneurs. Michael Dunlop teaches his readers how to be wealthy when you are young.

Michael Dunlop is the blogger of the authority entrepreneur blog – Income Diary and Retire At 21. Both focus on inspiring and motivating those who want to become internet entrepreneurs. I have been following his blog almost since it started.

(Related Post- Interview With Twitter CEO Evan Williams)

Here is a chip from the really really inspiring interview which Robb Sutton has taken for us. Here is a statement about Income Diary blog that was started by Michael Dunlop,

“It’s not even a year old and within a couple months of launching it was one of the biggest blogs in making money online. It had its first 100,000 visitors in its first month. It took me like a day or two to set up.”

You can read the FULL INTERVIEW OF MICHAEL DUNLOP HERE. It is a must read and it will be very motivating for internet entrepreneurs.

This post is for all those bloggers who declare themselves as a CEO or an Internet Entrepreneur after they start a blog. It is a reality check for all those people out there who think Internet Entrepreneurship is all about blogging. In fact, blogs are not in any way considered a business. At least not until you have made it into some kind of a money making machine.

Today, you will see millions of dead blogs strewn over the internet – all started with great enthusiasm and zeal, but some how things just refused to work out. Most blogs will never make any money on the internet and there is a very good reason for it. The number one reason is the total lack of a business model.

Most people have blogs but very few people have businesses. Blogs can only become a business when it has a revenue-generating model.

There must be some method of monetization of generating revenue from your blog. Having said this, simply creating a blog and pasting it with Google Adsense will never be a good revenue model – at least not until you have a high-traffic site.

The trick is to have a blog which mediates your business which can be any of the following:

Sell Affiliate Products

Reviews Advertisers

Membership Sites

Sell E-Books etc.

Your blog is more or less a promotional tool to boost the performance of your business. So if you would want to take my advice, create a solid online business like a real entrepreneur and then optimize your blog to drive people into whatever your objective is.

For example,

Gary Vaynerchuk well-known as the$60 million video blogger did not become rich by simply pumping out videos. He had a business plan at the back of it and the video blogs where just a way of promotion to it.

Michael Dunlop does not display a single ad on his high-traffic blog. He earns more money in a month than most people make in a year working 9-5. His money making model is by providing his readers with a system to create a blog – so he sells affiliate domain names, domain hosts and wordpress templates. An effective way to monetize traffic.

Similarly, David Risley is a “pro-blogger” who does not show any money from his blog but he drives people to join his membership site – “The Inner Circle“.

Hope you get the drift. So when you begin to blog – make sure you are blogging to promote a business and don’t consider your blog as a business in itself.

Let me know your thoughts on this below.
