SAN ANTONIO – A new mental health education initiative is hoping to bridge the gap in San Antonio.
It’s called The Bridges to Care San Antonio, a partnership between university Health and San Antonio Metro Health.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health is also involved.
The goal is to promote mental health awareness and crisis prevention to people in both the East and West Side communities, which are typically the toughest communities to reach because of stigma related to getting help for mental health.
“Often times, you hear a saying around here at Antioch that you can have Jesus and a therapist. We want people to understand there is no stigma.”
