Psychiatrist Furhut Janssen is Community Mental Health for Central Michigan’s new medical director.
Community Mental Health for Central Michigan has a new medical director.
Psychiatrist Furhut Janssen, a doctor of osteopathic medicine and member of the Forensic Assessment Center Network, started Tuesday as director of the six-county service area that includes Isabella, Clare and Mecosta counties.
Janssen’s past appointments include director of community behavioral health initiatives, psychiatry at the Central Michigan University College of Medicine; and she was the program director of the psychiatric residency at the CMU College of Medicine.
Janssen is on several national boards, including the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Psychiatry Residency Review Committee and is the current vice chair of the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists of the American Osteopathic Association.
Janssen received her doctor of osteopathic medicine from Michigan State University and completed her residency in psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry through MSU.
With a local office in Mt. Pleasant at the George Rouman Center at 301 S. Crapo St., CMHCM serves Isabella, Clare, Mecosta, Midland, Gladwin and Osceola counties.
