Delinquent 2022 taxes and second-half payments due June 30 in Laredo


The City of Laredo Tax Department issued a reminder Tuesday, June 20 that all delinquent taxes for tax year 2022 must be paid in the next 10 days by Friday, June 30 to avoid paying any attorney fees.

For anyone owing delinquent 2022 taxes who doesn’t pay by the deadline, their information will be turned over for collection to the delinquent tax attorney. In addition to the normal 18% penalty for delinquency, an additional 15% will be added for an attorney fee for a total of 33% in penalties. The penalties will continue to increase each subsequent month.

June 30 is also the deadline for completing second-half payment on 2022 taxes to avoid penalties and interest. Any accounts unpaid after this date will be subject to 13% in interest and penalties, and these total will increase each subsequent month.

Online payment can be submitted at cityoflaredo.com. Only credit or debit cards are accepted, and a 3% fee will be added. To pay by mail, make checks out to the City of Laredo Tax Department and mail to P.O. Box 6548, Laredo, Texas, 78042. No cash is accepted via mail.

Cash, cards and checks are all accepted at the tax offices at City Hall located at 1110 Houston St. and at the City Hall Annex and drive-thru located at 1102 Bob Bullock Loop. Both locations are open 8a .m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and both have drop boxes available for check payments after hours.
