Motorcycle crash in Hanford claims one life and leaves woman facing amputation, lengthy re

HANFORD, Calif. (FOX26) — A motorcycle crash in Hanford leaves a man dead and a woman on a long road to recovery.

On May 27, 23-year-old Amaya Hernandez and her boyfriend 24-year-old Brandon Moreno were riding a motorcycle when a fast-moving car hit them, according to Lorraina Hernandez a family member of Amaya.
Both of them were airlifted to a local hospital, where Moreno died the following day.
Hernandez had to have her left leg amputated and undergo multiple surgeries following the accident.
In the past month, Hernandez has been recovering at Community Regional Medical Center, according to her family. She has been discharged from CRMC and is now beginning the process of physical therapy.
On Saturday, the community of Hanford held a “Cruise for Brandon” at Burris Park. His family said many people came out to remember Moreno and take a ride together.
According to Hernandez’s family, the medical bills have put a financial strain on an already difficult and tragic situation.
